Traeger, Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe, Yoder, and most luxury pellet smokers. We strip the creosote, sanitize, and restore seasoning so your next brisket tastes like the first one off a brand-new pit.
Luke did a great job deep cleaning our BBQ that had quite a few years of deferred maintenance. What would have taken me days took him a few hours. Don't delay and protect your investment.
Every grate, every baffle, every inch of the firebox.
1
Cool down & disassemble
Pull grates, heat deflectors, drip pans, water pans, and accessories. On pellet smokers we remove the auger if accessible.
2
Ash & creosote removal
Vacuum out the firebox, scrape and brush every interior surface to bare metal where appropriate. Strip the tar at the source.
3
Component soak & scrub
Grates and baffles soak in food-safe degreaser, then get hand-scrubbed and rinsed.
4
Seal & gasket check
Inspect door gaskets, replace if damaged or compressed. A leaking gasket throws your temperature math off.
5
Reassemble & season
Reinstall components, lightly oil grates with food-grade seasoning oil. Run a short burn-in to verify everything draws clean.

Common questions
Smoker cleaning, answered.
How much does smoker cleaning cost in Coeur d'Alene?
Ignite charges a flat $450 for a residential smoker deep-clean across Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and Spokane Valley. Larger commercial-style smokers or trailer rigs are quoted upfront.
How often should I clean my Traeger or Big Green Egg?
Twice a year for casual users, spring and fall. Heavy users (twice a week or more) should clean every 3 to 4 months, or every 60 cooks. Creosote builds fastest at low-and-slow temperatures.
Do you clean pellet smokers AND kamados?
Yes. Each has a different process. Pellet smokers focus on the hopper, auger, and firepot. Kamados focus on ash removal, baffle scraping, and gasket inspection. We bring brand-specific tools for each.
Will cleaning kill the seasoning on my smoker?
No. We're careful to preserve it. We strip carbonized creosote (which is harmful) but leave the protective seasoning patina on grates. After we're done we re-coat lightly with food-safe seasoning oil so your next cook starts at full performance.
How long does smoker cleaning take?
A standard residential smoker takes about 3 hours. Larger Yoder, Recteq XLs, or smokers with years of buildup can run 4 to 5 hours. We bring everything: degreaser, scrapers, replacement gaskets, food-safe seasoning oil.
Can I bundle this with my BBQ cleaning?
Yes, and you should. Most Coeur d'Alene homes with a smoker also have a primary grill. Booking both on the same visit means one travel charge and we can keep your full outdoor cook station on the same maintenance rhythm.
