Washing Machine Cleaning in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
Front-load gasket mold, drum biofilm, dispenser sludge, drain pump junk — all of it. We strip it out so your clothes come out smelling like clothes, not like the wash you ran them in.
A 2021 study found front-load washer gaskets host more bacteria than most bathroom surfaces. The same warm, damp environment that's hard on clothes is paradise for mildew. Cleaning it isn't optional.

Our process
How we deep-clean a washing machine.
Front-load and top-load. Same care, different tools.
1
Disconnect & inspect
Pull the washer forward, disconnect water and drain. Check the drain hose and pump filter for debris.
2
Drum descale
Run a hot descaling cycle with food-safe descaler to dissolve detergent and mineral buildup on the drum and tub.
3
Gasket strip
Manually clean and treat the front-load door gasket. This is where 90% of the mold lives. We get into every fold.
4
Dispenser & filter
Remove the detergent dispenser drawer and clean both it and the housing. Clean the drain pump filter (the part nobody knows about).
5
Exterior & reconnect
Wipe down exterior, clean the door glass, reconnect water and drain. Run a final rinse cycle to verify clean output.

Common questions
Washing machine cleaning, answered.
Why does my front-load washer smell?
The door gasket and drum are designed to stay damp between loads. Detergent and fabric softener residue feed mildew in that environment. Most front-loaders smell musty within 2 years of installation if they're not professionally cleaned. We strip the mildew at the source and treat the gasket so it doesn't grow back fast.
Can't I just run a cleaning cycle myself?
The built-in 'clean washer' cycle helps with drum buildup but doesn't touch the gasket fold (where the real mold lives) or the drain pump filter (which most homeowners don't know exists). Our deep-clean covers all three plus the dispenser drawer.
How often should a washing machine be deep-cleaned in Coeur d'Alene?
Quarterly for front-loaders, every 6 months for top-loaders. Coeur d'Alene's hard water also leaves more mineral buildup than soft-water regions, which makes regular descaling extra important here.
Does this fix sour-smelling laundry?
In almost every case, yes. Sour-smelling clean laundry is the most reliable symptom of a dirty washing machine. After our service the smell goes away and stays away — assuming you also leave the door cracked between loads, which we'll remind you about.
How long does a washer cleaning take?
About 2.5–3 hours including a verification rinse cycle. You don't need to be home during the descale cycle, but we usually wrap up everything in one visit.
Will it ever damage my washer?
No. We use food-safe descalers and gentle gasket treatments — nothing harsh that could degrade rubber seals or void warranties.
