Luke did a great job deep cleaning our BBQ that had quite a few years of deferred maintenance. What would have taken me days took him a few hours. Don't delay and protect your investment.

Our process

How we restore a Blackstone (or built-in).

Strip, save what's good, rebuild what isn't.

1
Cool & assess
Cool the griddle completely. Inspect the surface for hot spots, rust, and seasoning health.
2
Scrape carbon
Use commercial scrapers to strip carbonized food and old burned seasoning from the cooking surface and edges.
3
Degrease
Commercial foaming degreaser lifts grease from the trough, grease cup, hood (if applicable), and around burner tubes.
4
Surface treatment
Light pumice on rust if present, then food-safe degreaser to neutralize. Rinse with hot water and dry.
5
Reseason
Wipe with food-grade oil and bring the surface to 400°F to bond the seasoning layer evenly.
6
Exterior & cover
Polish cabinets, clean the side shelves and propane tank area, replace cover if you have one. Ready for the next cook.

Common questions

Griddle cleaning, answered.

How much does Blackstone cleaning cost in Coeur d'Alene?

Ignite charges a flat $450 for a residential griddle deep-clean across Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and Spokane Valley. Larger 4-burner units or built-in griddles wider than 36″ may add a $50 size fee, quoted upfront.

How often should a Blackstone be deep-cleaned?

Quarterly for regular users, every 3 months. In Coeur d'Alene's climate, the winter freeze-thaw is hard on outdoor griddles, so spring is the most important clean of the year. Daily wipe-downs by you handle the rest.

Will deep-cleaning ruin my seasoning?

No. That's the whole point. We strip only the carbonized buildup that's killing the non-stick layer, then reseason properly at 400°F with food-grade oil. You leave the visit with better seasoning than before we arrived.

What about rust spots?

We handle them. Light surface rust gets pumice-treated, then food-safe degreaser to neutralize. Heavily pitted surfaces may need professional resurfacing. We'll flag that if we see it, but it's rare on well-stored griddles.

Can I leave my Blackstone outside in winter in Coeur d'Alene?

Yes if it's covered, ideally yes-with-a-cover-and-stored-against-the-house. North Idaho's freeze-thaw cycle is brutal on uncovered carbon-steel surfaces. Most rust problems we see come from snowmelt sitting on the cooking surface.

Do you clean built-in griddles like Wolf or DCS?

Yes. Built-in griddles get the same process, with extra care around the surround cabinet and adjacent burners. We service all the major luxury outdoor kitchen brands across Coeur d'Alene.
